Robert M. Anderson

Robert M. Anderson received his Bachelor's degree from the University of Toronto in 1973 and his Ph.D. from Yale University in 1977; both degrees were in Mathematics. He was Assistant Professor of Economics and Mathematics at Princeton from 1978 to 1982, then Associate Professor of Economics from 1982 to 1983. Since 1983, he has been Associate Professor and then Professor of Economics and Mathematics at UC Berkeley. He was elected a Fellow of the Econometric Society in 1987. His research publications are primarily in mathematical economics. He has a longstanding policy interest in health questions. He chaired the University Committee on Faculty Welfare, the Academic Senate Committee with responsibility for benefit programs for the entire University of California system, in 1998-99, and continues to provide advice to the Committee on a regular basis.
